Going back to the Nerve roots with this release - two absolutely brilliant tough n techy rollers from Finland's finest - Trisector & Dejaru. Individually they create a beautiful cacophony of noise - with Trisector releasing on Med School and Dejaru delivering for Vampire Records but together it's an even more beautiful thang.

"Dead End" opens with creepy pads and synth work before a crisp breaks rolls in as a wee warning for the approaching bass, which can only be described as "a bit like that bit in Indiana Jones with the giant ball". It's a tough techy roller and guaranteed to get any decent dancefloor on it's feet and on the go. "Aeon Silicon" on the flip is a dirtier affair, again the trademark quality beats and bass are in place topped off with a grungey synth hook that can only be described as "filth" (in the best possible way).

Absolutely brilliant stuff, for more on these guys and other fine Finnish producers - make sure to check out the Finnish Drum n Bass and Dubstep 2010 compilation.

Today was the opening of PixelACHE, festival of electronic music, art and subcultures held in Helsinki for the rest of the week. It's been held since 2002 and it contains various workshops, art exhibitions, performances, clubs and whatnot.

The programme has been interesting every year to say the least, concentrating on more or less experimental and interactive electronic art, vj culture and audiovisual performances, science, politics and environmental issues, just to name a few.

This time a little bit of experimental art, which you yourself can take
direct part in. Thanks to the script, written by Ricardo Cabello, you can easily experiment on your illustrations, using high-tech brushes of the most intricate shapes.

The months 3rd thursday is approaching soon, and you know what time it is then. It's time for Science, the monthly beard strokin' espresso drinkin' drum'nbass sessions in Bar Loop, this time with guest dj's St. Laurent and Infader.

Time for some dubstep again, rolling up and down between some crunchy steppy beats and more mellow melodic bass meditation tracks. Sunday vibes.

Murky deep waters ambient from one of my personal favourite DJs in Finland (and probably many others pick him too), Indigo. This one caught my attention because of the two Oöphoi tracks from his album 'Spirals of Time' that got me back into the great depths of ambient after a small break. Celestial soundscapes guaranteed.
